Cape Cod is the perfect summer destination located in Massachusetts. A trip to Cape Cod means quaint towns, beautiful coastlines, and plenty of outdoor activities. No matter who you are or what you appreciate in a trip, Cape Cod is the ideal option.

- Cape Cod is considered the whole “arm” of Massachusetts. There are four parts that make up Cape Cod: Upper-Cape, Mid-Cape, Outer-Cape, and Lower Cape. Upper Cape is the area closest to Boston and Lower Cape is the area furthest from Boston.
- The best way to get around and explore Cape Cod is by car. The airport closest to Cape Cod is Logan International Airport which is anywhere from 1.5 hours to 3 hours from the Cape, depending on where you are going.
- The weather in Massachusetts can be a bit unpredictable, but the best time to visit is from late June to September.
- The “Islands” are Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, two islands off of the coast of Massachusetts. The only way to reach Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard is by ferry (or, seasonally, by airplane).
When to go:
The high season in Cape Cod is the summer, specifically from June to beginning of September. The most popular season to visit Cape Cod is marked by Memorial Day (the kick-off to summer) and Labor Day (the end of summer). While the Cape is still beautiful during the end of September and October, winter is not the optimal time to visit the area.
