- February: If you visit in February, you will get to experience the Carnival which takes place from the end of January to mid-February. It is commemorate the end of Lent and known for the parade of masks.
- June through August is usually high season for visitors.
- The best time to visit is September or October. Crowds have subsided a bit but you will still have nice weather.

- Gondola Ride: When you think of Venice, you think of a relaxing gondola ride down the canals. While a trip can be expensive, it is one of the must-do activities while in Venice. Being able to see the city and all its intricacies from the water is incredible and uniquely Venetian.
- Burano and Murano: From San Marco, you can take the Vaporetto, water taxi, or organized tour to the iconic islands of Burano and Murano. The ride will take roughly 40 minutes. These two islands are known for glass-blowing and colorful houses in Murano and lace-making in Burano.
- Visit the historical buildings: Top attractions in Venice include Bridge of Sighs, Rialto Bridge, Saint Mark’s Basilicia, St Mark’s Square, and Doge’s Palace. Visiting these sites in the morning will help avoid some of the crowds.
- Grand Canal: This is the major waterway in Venice.
